How Jadoke Works
A drop auction — the price falls automatically over time until someone buys.
The basic idea
Every listing starts at the price the seller sets, then falls automatically from there — dropping by a fixed amount on a fixed schedule, both also chosen by the seller when they list it. The price only ever falls, never rises. Whoever is willing to pay the current price first gets it, so waiting can get you a better deal, but someone else can always beat you to it.
A seller can also schedule a listing to go live at a future date/time instead of right away. All times on Jadoke are Central Time.
Two ways to buy
Buy It Now — pay the current displayed price and the item is yours immediately.
Standing ("will-buy") bid — set a price below the current one. If the price ever drops to or below your number before anyone else buys it, you win automatically at that moment — you don't have to be watching. If more than one standing bid would trigger at the same price, whoever placed their bid first wins.
Reserve prices
A seller can set a reserve — the lowest price they'll actually accept. If a listing has one, it's always shown publicly, so you can decide up front whether it's worth your time. The displayed price stops dropping once it reaches the reserve — it won't fall any further — and neither Buy It Now nor a standing bid can go below it.
Consumer vs. Commercial
Every listing lands in one of two sections, and Browse has a filter button at the left of the category bar to show just one or the other. Consumer is personal listings from individual sellers — new or used, it doesn't matter, as long as it's not a business selling it. Commercial is anything the seller flags as a business listing. Listing as Consumer to get around that split isn't allowed — the listing can be pulled, and repeated violations can get the account suspended.
Auto-relist
A seller can turn on auto-relist when listing an item. If it doesn't sell, it relists itself automatically (same price, terms, and photos, fresh price timer) up to 3 times, so a seller who's busy or forgets doesn't lose out. If it still hasn't sold after that, a flat one-time minimum fee applies — 0.5% of the original starting price, capped at $75.00 — in place of (not in addition to) the usual reserve no-sale fee.
Paying for what you win
Jadoke never handles payment for the item itself — that's between you and the seller directly. Every listing shows which payment methods the seller accepts (cash, PayPal, Venmo, etc.) before you ever bid, so you know what to expect. Shipping or pickup is arranged the same way, directly with the seller.
What it costs to sell
Listing an item is free. A seller needs a payment method on file before listing, but nothing is ever charged unless something actually happens:
| Situation | Fee |
|---|---|
| Sells for $10,000.00 or less | 5.0% of the sale price, capped at $150.00 |
| Sells for more than $10,000.00 | 1.5% of the sale price, no cap |
| Had a reserve, didn't sell | 2.5% of the starting price (capped at $75.00) for listings that started at $10,000.00 or less, 0.5% for listings that started higher — waived entirely if relisted within 24 hours |
| No reserve, just didn't sell | Nothing owed |
The fee is based on what the item actually sold for, not the starting price, so there's never a reason to start a listing at an artificial number to try to land in a cheaper bracket.
Fees are charged automatically to the seller's saved card the moment they're owed — no separate step to remember. If an automatic charge doesn't go through, it falls back to a manual payment prompt on the seller's dashboard.
Featured placements
When listing an item, a seller can optionally pay to feature it — separate from the selling fee, and charged right away regardless of whether the item ends up selling. Four placements are available:
| Placement | Rate |
|---|---|
| Homepage Featured Ad — Top of homepage, 3 spots/day | $500.00/day |
| Homepage Top Pick Ad — First listings on homepage, 8 spots/day | $100.00/day |
| Category Featured Ad — Top of category page, 3 spots/day | $50.00/day |
| Category Pick Ad — First listings in category, 4 spots/day | $10.00/day |
Each placement has a limited number of spots per day, so a seller picks a start date and a number of days from a calendar that shows what's actually open — sold-out days are grayed out rather than found out about after the fact. Featured placements always respect the Consumer/Commercial filter, the same as the regular listing grid — buying a slot doesn't buy visibility into a filtered view that excludes that listing's own type.
If the item sells, ends without selling, or is otherwise pulled before a featured run finishes, any remaining full days are automatically refunded to the seller — the day it ends still counts as a used day, but nothing further is charged for advertising a listing that's no longer live.
Watchlist price alerts
Adding an item to your watchlist optionally lets you set a target price. Once the item's price drops to or below that number, you're notified by email and/or text (based on your notification settings) — you don't have to keep checking back. The alert fires once; lowering the target arms it again.
Sharing a listing
Every listing page has buttons to share it on Facebook, by email, or by text — plus a "Copy Link" button for pasting anywhere else. Each one posts a preview showing the photo, title, and price, an easy way to get more eyes on something you're selling, watching, or just want to show someone. These work on any listing, including ones that have already sold or ended.
Install Jadoke as an app
Jadoke can be added to your phone or computer like an app — its own icon, and it opens full-screen without the browser's address bar around it.
iPhone/iPad (Safari): tap the Share button, then "Add to Home Screen."
Mac (Safari): open the File menu at the top of the screen and choose "Add to Dock."
Android, or Chrome/Edge on a computer: look for an install icon at the right side of the
address bar, or check the browser's menu for an "Install" option — a button will also show up right above
automatically when it's available.
Finding things nearby
Search by zip code and a radius (50 mi, 100 mi, 200 mi, 500 mi) to see what's listed near you.
Your account
Verifying your email and phone number isn't required to browse, but it unlocks text/email alerts when you win an auction or sell an item, and it's how a seller adds a payment method. Buyers only see a seller's zip code and name until there's an actual sale — full shipping details are shared with the seller only once you've won something.
