Privacy Policy
Last updated July 18, 2026. This is a plain-language summary, not final legal text — see the note at the bottom.
What we collect
When you create a Jadoke account, we collect:
- First and last name, and a Display Name you choose to be shown publicly instead
- Email address and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text)
- Zip code and phone number
- Street address (used as your default shipping address and for identity purposes)
- Your confirmation that you're 18 or older and that you agree to these terms
If you list an item for sale, Jadoke also stores a payment method on file through Stripe (our payment processor) to charge Jadoke's own seller fees — see below. If you win or complete a sale, we store the order details needed to connect the buyer and seller.
How we use it
- Name and street address — account identity, and sharing your shipping details with a seller only after you've actually won something from them, never before
- Display Name — what other users see on listings, your seller profile page, and anywhere else on the site; your legal name is never shown to other users
- Email and phone — verifying your account, sending order-related notifications (won an auction, sold an item, price alerts), and optional SMS alerts once your phone is verified
You control which notifications you receive in Account Settings.
Phone verification and one account per phone
Verifying a phone number requires entering a 6-digit code we text to it. To help prevent people from creating multiple accounts, each phone number can only be verified on one Jadoke account at a time — once a number is verified on an account, it can't be verified again on a different one.
Payments
- Jadoke uses Stripe to securely store a seller's payment method and to charge Jadoke's own selling fees
- Jadoke never sees or stores your full card number — that's handled entirely by Stripe
- Jadoke never processes payment for the item itself — that's handled directly between buyer and seller using whatever method the seller lists
What other users can see
Shown to anyone browsing Jadoke, on your seller profile: your Display Name, zip code, and public listing/rating activity.
Never shown to other users: your legal name, email, phone number, and street address.
Your full shipping address is the one exception — it's shared with a seller only after you've won an item from them, so they can ship it to you.
Reports and moderation records
If a listing is reported, Jadoke keeps an internal record of the report and any resulting warning, but never tells the reported seller who filed it or that a report was filed at all — only that a warning was issued, if one was. These records are visible only to Jadoke admins.
What we don't do
Jadoke doesn't sell your personal information to third parties. We share account information only with service providers that help run the site (like Stripe for payments and our email/SMS providers for notifications), or when required by law.
Cookies and sessions
Jadoke uses a session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use cookies to track you across other websites.
Your choices
- Update your name, Display Name, address, phone, and notification preferences any time in Account Settings
- Delete your account yourself from Account Settings — this removes your name, email, phone, and address from Jadoke immediately (past listings, orders, and ratings stay on file under a generic "Deleted User" label, since other people's records depend on them)
- For anything else, contact us at support@jadoke.com
Changes to this policy
Jadoke may update this policy as the site changes. Continuing to use Jadoke after an update means you accept the revised policy.
